Ted Cruz's value-added tax proposal is horrific. He really needs to read Murry Rothbard on teh VAT.
But it doesn't mean he isn't familiar with the great economists Ludwig von Mises and F.A. Hayek.
In a New York Times profile of Cruz, we are informed:
As a teenager, growing up in Houston, he earned money delivering speeches on Friedrich A. Hayek and Ludwig von Mises, expounding on free-market principles at Rotary and Kiwanis clubs.-RW
Hard to believe.
ReplyDeleteNot really hard to believe. After all, Paul Ryan and Alan Greenspan claim a heavy influence from Ayn Rand. The lust for power can overcome intelligent ideas, apparently.
ReplyDeleteIt is said that he memorized the u.s.constitution at a young age, but it is quite apparent he understand what it says.
