This is good news. Not only does it announce to any TEA Party hangers-on that this guy cannot be trusted, but the exposure of him sicking the government cops on the journalist suggests that he's hiding SOMETHING; that makes him a bit of a political liability with all of the "good folks" with whom he was supposedly doing reform work. You're an embarrassment, Rand!
So now he's not just "as bad as anyone else in Congress," he's actively trying to be WORSE. Can't wait for him to announce his support for some big over budget mil-ind complex project.
Wow. I've defended Rand, hoping these public displays were in service of some larger freedom agenda. No more. Screw him. RDFitz
Would be interested in hearding Rand's side of the story.
I agree with you mark
Too bad Rand Paul is such a coward and it looks like sociopath just like almost all politicians.
It's really time for Ron Paul to correct his son. It's not like he's the only older man that has to still on occasion correct a middle aged child.
I think it is useless to try to change him. He basically has made his name off of his father's works and efforts for liberty.
Again the story does not reflect the headline. Apparently, Rand Paul filed a complaint with the media relations committee about her conduct and mentioned the possibility that such behavior could warrant arrest or termination. That is not the same thing as a threat even though Rudowski termed it that. A threat would involve a claim of retaliation if certain acts were committed.Instead the committee representative merely proposed to meet with her to get her side of the story and had other media representatives present to evaluate if the conduct was proper. Personally, I'm surprised that such "ambush journalism" is permitted inside the Capitol Building, and I'm not surprised that Rand Paul, being new to Senate, was surprised at this too.
Robb....So what is it going to take for you to open your eyes? Asking questions is not "ambush journalism" (whatever the hell that is). And there is NO WAY that Rand should have even been considered for arrest. You're as mentally ill as Rand I guess.
Luke calls Rand Paul "Mr. Libertarian." What a hoot. *smh*
Its not 'ambush' journalism by any stretch. The two individuals are aware of the shield surrounding powerful D.C. elites from making potentially embarrassing statements. Filing a complaint over this issue is clearly a not so subtle threat. They had Rand on record about the subject matter of the question pre-Mitt endorsement and wanted to revisit it following the nod to Romney. To hell with politicians who believe they are above being asked anything - anything at all. If they do not like the question they can simply and graciously decline to answer. Being vindictive and petty? You'd never see a class act behave this way.
The RT connection...This brings to mind a very weird, disturbing incident back during the RP campaign. Jesse Benton (a crowd favorite :) ) was quoted as saying, in effect: "Screw RT, who needs them" when RT was the ONLY large media outlet to OVERWHELMINGLY respect RP and support his views.So... a cabal among the Paul clan who are shaded towards the dark side? A traitorous son? Stay tuned, kids.
this tells you everything you need to know about Rand Paulhttp://www.kentucky.com/2012/07/31/2278755/mitch-mcconnell-and-rand-paul.html
I wonder how much Rand's hissy-fit cost the tax-slaves. All those overpaid federal bureaucrats don't come cheap...or even reasonably priced. So much for all his BS about cutting spending.
Well...I can't judge the man.But I CAN judge his actions.This was neither a mature nor a freedom-loving action.
What proof is there that Rand Paul actually is behind this? I dont believe he is this stupid, leftists lie all the time and I find this very hard to believe.
So, the Senate security service called Abby on their own, without Rand's previous complaint? Is that what you are suggesting? Somebody else made them called her and interrogate her in order to make Rand look bad? If so, why then Rand did not reveal this and distance himself from the entire operation?
Yes,That is so hard to believe. Everyone jumping to conclusions. If Rand was behind it, yes that is VERY bad. But make sure he is behind it.Rand is a pretty solid senator. All the libertarians need perfection. You wont find that EVER.
To be clear, it is not a security service, it is an actual police force. The Capitol Police cover the Capitol building and parts surrounding that are considered sovereign land. And they will enforce the laws in that sovereign land that they decide. So, she was not being threatened by a security company, she was being threatened by the Capitol Police.
"Rand is a pretty solid senator. All the libertarians need perfection. You wont find that EVER."I guess you don't know who Ron Paul is eh? Besides, as far as libertarianism goes, I'm perfect. So yes it exists.
1 And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.2 Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba.3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.
Nothing is ever as it seems. How do you know Rand Paul is behind this?
I wouldn't want any of you guys on my jury. You'd convict me strictly on the basis of prosecution evidence. Chill, people.
Bullshit. Get a clue.
Just tuned in to Rand Paul's live talk on "Internet Freedom" at the bellicose Heritage Foundation. About 20 minutes in, and the video had under 100 viewers:http://i.imgur.com/Vw1c9.jpgDo you think this would happen with RON Paul?
One apple that rolled far from the tree.
Especially considering how agreeable and accomodating I remember Rand Paul being to WeAreChange when he was running for the Senate...
Ok, let me get this straight:My junior KY senator has punched TSA in the face, gave an upper-cut to the FED/Bernanke, fought against most every gov't bureaucracy and govt't graft/waste (EPA, Dept of Ed, DOD, yada yada) and essentially been the most vocal and prominent Constitutionalist in the US Senate in decades...now that he has made a complaint against a journalist, we should toss the guy in the waste bin. The most effective small gov't senator...GET RID OF HIM???You're IDIOTS. Focus on the real cabal of entrenched establishmentarians...the real political evil.Yes,if Rand is behind this complaint, he needs to apologize and get thicker skin. He's made a couple more mistakes such as endorsing Romney and not endorsing Phil Moffett in the KY gov race. But he is SO MUCH BETTER than 97 other senators.GET SOME FRIGGIN' PERSPECTIVE! Stop listening to the leftists and corporatists who have no desire but to destroy lovers of Liberty like RAND.
We have "perspective". He isn't that much better than the cunts you refer to. Ron Paul is.
Just watch Senator Paul's demeanor (I busy) in the video. We are all busy but only some of us believe we are more important. Respectfully declining to answer a respectfully asked question is all that is needed. Big frosh mistake in a flattened media world. www.tradewithdave.com
Is this guy Peter Schiff's son? He could be!
Yeah, I got "SOME FRIGGIN' PERSPECTIVE!" Mr. Anonymous @ 11:57 AM.The whole lot of them are back-stabbing, lying, stealing, no-good-for-nothing warmongers who will Never Change a Dang Thing,... ever! The nation must be made up of People who like being bamboozled and ripped off?Your, "junior KY senator has punched TSA in the face"? PSft... as if. He ain't done Jack to amount to a hill of beans. A.k.a. NADA.Your junior KY senator, "gave an upper-cut to the FED/Bernanke"?Say what?Maybe you're confusing father with son?Fighting against most every gov't bureaucracy and govt't graft/waste is a Huge Waste of Time and Effort and produces almost nothing.I'd say a lot of People need to GET SOME FRIGGIN' PERSPECTIVE! only they seem to be mixing up the meaning of "perspective" with that of "desire and fear".Things will Never change from within the belly of the beast. The only thing you have the power to change is, you.- clark
Rand Paul, pretending to be sympathetic to Ron Paul's positions, is nothing other than an authoritarian would-be dictator.
