  2. Great video by Ben, as always.

Wow, violent crime is 4-5X higher in Britain than the U.S.; I had no idea.

  3. Morgan is either ignorant of how to properly look at statistics or deliberately misleading. You need to look at incidents over a fixed amount.

And you need to look at what happened before and after the UK gun ban. The stats speak for themselves.

    1. Morgan is definitely deliberately misleading. He knows full well that violent crime is out of control in Great Britain.

The state wants gun control, and it's happy to use any statistics necessary to sway the public.

Maybe Ben Swann should run for office.

  4. Before fellow gun owners rush out to use these stats in a debate and get ambushed, someone should check that violent crimes are counted the same way in the UK as in the US. I've heard that they count some minor incidents as violent crimes that we don't count, and that would contribute to their higher rate.

Anyway, the whole body counting line of arguments is a collectivist fallacy. What bad people do cannot be held against innocent people and tells us nothing about what rights innocent people have.

    1. And I've heard that murders are reported differently in the UK and US. Supposedly, in the US, you need a body and in the UK you need a conviction. When there is no conviction, the murder is not counted. Here is a link:

  5. Ben Swann has been a member of the Ron Paul Revolution and is exactly the kind of person who will carry on the torch of liberty in helping change the minds of many people with his media position. Check out his previous reports for those of you just now seeing him for the first time.

Where else will you see a network tv reporter speak positively about nullification, that the 2nd amendment was meant as a check on the federal govt being too powerful, talking about the Fed, defending Ron Paul over and over when he was unfairly attacked, the NDAA, our secret drone war, asking Romney and Ryan to their faces about stealing votes from Paul supporters at conventions, etc?

Heck, this is the same guy who visibly shocked Dear Leader Obama by daring to ask him about drone strikes and killing a US citizen right to his face! You could tell Obama thought this would be another typical softball interview, and had a look of shock on his face when asked about the drone war, ha ha! He stammered some to buy some time, but Ben Swann will probably not be getting any more press passes for Obama visits to Cincinnati!

  6. Ben Swann is more intelligent than Piers Morgan and Alex Jones COMBINED.

  7. Is everyone aware that the UK has tried to ban long blade knives because of the rash of knifing murders?

  9. What violent crimes in the UK wouldn't be considered violent in the US??? And with that distinction, how would it make a difference in the 2034 violent crimes per 100K in the UK to the 466 per 100K in the US???

  10. I swear Glenn Beck must work for the CIA or something. He's constantly trying to lead conservative/libertarian/Republican types down blind alleys and into "safe" protests.

  11. Any social scientist worth his salt would facepalm the tactic of comparing crime rates between different populations, as opposed to comparing pre and post crime rates after gun control laws within a single population...

Without accounting for all the other confounding variables that cause variation in gun crime rates...

    Without establishing anything approximating causality...

Without running experiments, it is virtually impossible to establish causality. In the social sciences, experiments never happen at the population level. Even quasi-experiments are rare.

Turning to statistics is for the most part an exercise in futility vis-a-vis the gun debate, since we can't do experiments. That is, if you are aiming for truth and not political impact.

Not that this should matter on the rights front. That is only speaking to the utility of gun control (or lack thereof).

  13. So many people who say, "you won't take my guns," have already a) let them destroy/control their money, and b) wholeheartedly run after them in support of terrible foreign wars.

  14. Why haven't we heard of this guy before the last few years?
Is he a "Ron Paul convert"?

    1. Yes. He made video after video during the primary defending Ron Paul and actual libertarian views. He is growing in popularity, too. Check out his facebook and twitter pages.
