Rand Paul Headed to NYC Fundraiser

Rand Paul is heading to NYC, where he will be the featured attraction at a fundraiser at the Women’s National Republican Club, according to an invitation obtained by POLITICO.

The email from Manhattan GOP chairman Dan Isaacs invites attendees to a “private briefing” with the Senator followed by a luncheon.

POLITICO goes on:
Paul has made a string of trips to New York and has mingled with top-tier Republican donors, including hedge fund billionaire Paul Singer, one of his party’s staunchest pro-Israel hawks.
Singer's hedge fund bought Delphi, a bankrupt auto-parts manufacturer which the U.S. Treasury had allowed GM to give at least $2.8 billion of funds from the Troubled Asset Relief Program.  In a 2 November 2012 Huffington Post article, Carl Pope wrote that Singer had threatened to close Delphi “unless the taxpayer bailed it out” The bailout enabled Singer to make huge $$$$s.

In 2009, Singer wrote an op-ed  piece, which appeared in WSJ,  titled, Free-Marketeers Should Welcome Some Regulation.

Sounds just like Rand's kind of guy, pro-war, pro-regulation, in a libertarian sort of way.
