South Carolina Doctor Mike Vasovski has joined a growing group of doctors and taken his medical practice off the insurance grid. Let us hope many others follow.

“My medical practice has gone off line. Effective yesterday, the computers that contain patient’s account information including billing diagnosis, have been completely de-linked from the internet. Therefore, your health information is completely secure. Accounting will be done in house with Quickbooks on a PC that is not connected to the internet. We are moving towards a payment at time of service model in which my practice does not participate with insurance companies. Fees will be truly affordable and your medical records will not be in a format that can be accessed electronically. Peace and Liberty, Dr. Mike Vasovski.”
In an interview with Joshua Cook, he discussed a variety of reasons – both ideological and practical – for his choice, and described the effects of these actions on patients.

The overlords will be certain to make this illegal if too many doctors follow Dr. Vasovski's lead.
ReplyDeleteHere's the upcoming legal justification for not allowing doctors to do this: Individuals are mandated to buy insurance. Therefore, any doctor who goes "off grid" or refuses to accept insurance is encouraging individuals to ignore the mandate to purchase insurance.
ReplyDeleteConsider insurance as legal tender for health-related transactions. No pay, no play.
Perhaps if enough individuals refuse to purchase the market rigged "health" insurance and enough Doctors reject the crony insurance paradigm, the result would be lower prices, better service as well as the glorious statement made to the US government that goes something like "go f yourself!"

I'm in medical school now and people like Dr.Vasovski are role models...There are lots of us in my class who don't want to bow to the state and the crony capitalist insurance companies...
ReplyDeleteThey don't even have to make it illegal. They raided a Pharmacy/Wellness Center in Fort Wayne 9/11/13 where the doctor doesn't take insurance. The Medicaid Fraud Unit was involved in the raid. They asked the Pharmacist to give them his license. His lawyer told him not to. From the news: “No one was arrested yesterday and after a review of the evidence of the entire case it will be presented to the U.S Attorney’s Office for possible prosecution.” They remain open because he did not turn over his license. The cops confiscated both guns the guy owns, both legally registered. They confiscated $25,000 in cash from the doctor. They picked a lock on a building they didn't have warrant to search and then went and got a warrant for it the next day. When the phamacist's step-father googled info about DEA raids, the first link he clicked on popped up a warning that he was about to go to an "Un-American Website." He went anyway and found a complete list of similar raids throughout the country. Now he wonders if he is on a list. Amerikans be like WE FREE!! (If your home is ever searched, expect to lose any guns or cash they discover.)
