Bill Gates on Bitcoin...and Ripple

More than specifically his view on Bitcoin, what I find interesting about this Gates comment, from an interview with Backchannel,  is that he mentions the Bitcoin alternative, Ripple:
There’s a lot that bitcoin or Ripple and variants can do to make moving money between countries easier and getting fees down pretty dramatically. But bitcoin won’t be the dominant system...We need things that draw on the revolution of bitcoin, but bitcoin alone is not good enough.
How did Ripple get on Gates' radar screen? I'm familiar with  Ripple, and have been for years,  but  Ripple is not an everyday topic even in the Bitcoin community,

  1. At least Gates understands that bitcoin is revolutionary, unlike you. Hint: it has nothing to do with it being "anonymous".

    2. I imagine governments consider bitcoin-like "currencies" to be the Holy Grail of inflatable "currencies".

(Say all you want about the cap on the possible number of bitcoins - the *existing* bitcoins, numbered as they were, were created out of thin air.)

Gates is an insider, so I think he's generally trying to push the IDEA of bitcoins, if not bitcoins, themselves.

  3. Anytime an Elitist who wants to de-populate the world through vaccines speaks, I do not trust him and do not pay attention. He is a control freak and will do everything in his power to destroy any threat to his control.

Pay no attention to him, move on...
