The Ten Most Distressed Cities in the United States

While most of the US is in a Fed-manipulated boom, there are pockets of distress. Below, based on analysis from the Economic Innovation Group using Census Bureau data is a map identifying the ten most distressed cities in the United States.

  1. In photoshop, I overlaid a US map with state capitals marked on top of this one. The vast majority of states have their capitals in "not distressed" areas. Some of them (Arkansas, California, and Tennessee for example) are surrounded by a sea of distressed areas.

    There are many factors that play into that, but a libertarian deconstruction of it would include these places being the seat of power and the parasite classes insulating themselves from the situation of their hosts.
