MINIMUM WAGE BLOWBACK: "Robots Will Take Over Staff Jobs at McDonald's; Huge Job Losses Are Imminent"

A former McDonald's CEO warned that robots will take over staff jobs at the fast food empire - because it's cheaper than employing humans, reports the UK's Mirror.

Ed Rensi has said that buying highly skilled robotics is a cheaper alternative than employing people on minimum wage to work in the company's worldwide restaurants.

He warned that huge job losses are imminent, and commented that it would be 'common sense' to replace humans in the workplace.

Rensi told the Mirror: "I was at the National Restaurant Show yesterday and if you look at the robotic devices that are coming into the restaurant industry.

"It’s cheaper to buy a $35,000 (£24,000) robotic arm than it is to hire an employee who’s inefficient making $15 (£10.20) an hour bagging French fries.

  3. Leftist reaction will be to blame the bastard capitalist pigs and capitalism itself. I would not be surprised if the SEIU is able to get new taxes passed on labor-saving robots in service industry jobs in cities/states controlled by Democrats.

Some fast food businesses will actually support these new taxes because it makes capital-saving robots too expensive an investment for the little guys.

Ladies and gentlemen, let's hear it for corporatism!

  5. I'm all for whatever businesses want to do with their own processes, but when it comes to food I do prefer human service. It's very respectable for people to work their way up the fast food chain and become a manager, or for using fast food as a launching pad for other employment. I'm an engineer and I worked fast food growing up. The destruction of the purchasing power of the dollar is truly evil, creates all these do-gooders who call for a minimum wage. Destruction of my parents and many others' lifetime of savings, creation of LBJ's grandchildren, financing of endless wars and open and out-right economic enslavement of the people; I hope Liberty minded individuals stop trying to "educate" and go into active peaceful revolt against the Fed and its crony Wall Street banksters soon.

    1. I agree. I very much enjoy the thrill of wondering whether Juilio in the kitchen washed his hands after visiting the restroom and if I'll get salmonella (again). Robots never visit the restroom...takes away all the fun.

  6. How soon can we elect robots to office to replace corrupt politicians and communists?
