Thomas Sowell: Why I Doubt Climate Change

  1. The commentary on climate change replayed here is 9 years old. The claim that temperatures went up first followed by CO2 rise is no longer borne out by the data. Climate science is still being bugged by those who do not like the political implications. it's not safe to pretend science is wrong because you don't like the implications.

    1. Climate scientists are adjusting every data set they have at their disposal one by one and once they started they readjust them constantly. The net adjustments are in the direction needed to prove their theory. These adjustments are made based on their expert opinion of what they should be. If you trust them, trust them. However their self interest is to do exactly what they are doing.

    2. Let's try some science!

What is the margin of error on the global average temperature taken today with fancy satellites and lasers? What is the margin of error on the global average temperature from 100 years ago? From 200 years ago?

What is the margin of error for a model projecting the global average temperature 100 years into the future? 200 years?

    3. Even if we should grant that the data has changed, how do you explain the fact that the "scientists" mis-used the original data? Were they dumb or dishonest back then? And why do we believe that they are now both smart and honest?

  2. The fact that the only solution to this 'alleged' problem was all of us peons paying $4 or more per gallon for gas for fossil fuels while the elite got to live in their big estates and jet around the world would have told you it was a scam.

  3. When you start promoting public policies, you're no longer practicing science, you're advancing your politics. You're interfering with your experiment for your own self-interest.
