A friend sends along this AP raw footage video of the protesters who heckled Obama's chief economic adviser, Larry Summers, during a Q&A session with Carlyle Group's David Rubenstein at yesterday's Washington Economic Club luncheon.
The masses are beginning to understand the inside game.
A few things to note in the video.
The start of the video has a great close up of the out-of-shape, double chinned Summers, who Rubentein said, during introductory remarks, was a great tennis player, even against a pro!
At the table directly in front of the stage is the Neil Kashkari/UAE delegates table. Kashkari is the shaved head individual right where the AP logo is. The UAE delegates are across the table to his left (They moved their chairs a bit as the Q&A started. They were much closer to Kashkari durng the lunch.) At about 50 seconds into the video, you will see a man get up and leave the Kashkari/UAE table. He was an official from Japan that Rubenstein also introduced before the start of the Q&A. I didn't catch his name or title, possibly Japan's ambassador to the U.S.
As you can see, he stood up as the heckling began, and headed towards the back, which is where the exits were. He passed by me as he left and had a "This could be trouble. I have to get out of here." look on his face. He never returned.

ReplyDeleteAre you sure you didn't misread the Asian look of, "I thought their fish would be fresher here--where is the toilet?!" ?
Oh, boy, that video was priceless.
