39% of the public says that Fed chairman Ben Bernanke should not be reappointed when his term ends next year, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll. One-third say he should be. The rest were not sure.
Overall, more than 70% of Americans know enough about Bernanke to have an opinion about his future. Pollster Bill McInturff says the surprise was “that many people had an opinion.”
