Another Global Tour for Geithner

The plotting continues

This morning, Treasury Secretary Geithner left for London to begin a trip to Europe and the Middle East – July 12 – 16. The Secretary will meet with officials in London, England; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; and Paris, France to discuss a range of issues including "collective actions taken to help ensure a sound and sustainable recovery from the global economic and financial crisis."

This will be Geithner’s first trip to the Middle East since taking office.

1 comment:

  1. Geithner chose the two regions with economic unions, Europe and Middle Eastern Gulf states.

Obama just visited Africa, which is working on its version of an economic union. Col. Gaddafi wants to develop an African Union. The Carlyle Group recently courted Gaddafi's son during a trip to the U.S. Carlyle also started up a $500 million Middle East/North Africa fund.
