Bradley Birkenfeld, the former UBS private banker turned key informant, was sentenced on Friday to a tougher-than-expected 40 months in prison by US District Judge William Zloch, for helping American clients open secret Swiss bank accounts.
The prison term is 10 months longer than was recommended by prosecutors, who said Birkenfeld had provided “substantial assistance” to their tax evasion investigation involving UBS.
LOL, it's almost as though Zloch has a secret account and wants to discourage other bankers from talking.
US District Judge William Zloch. Friend of Phil Gramm?
