This could really drive you to drink, or at least cause you to drive for a drink.
Stefan Karlsson points out that Norway has the highest alcohol tax in Europe, which is why Norwegians travel in large numbers to buy alcohol in Sweden. The border town of Strömstad is the highest selling store in Sweden as a result of the massive traffic from Norway.
But, Swedish alcohol taxes are higher than in Denmark. This is why many Swedes go to Denmark to buy alcohol. Meanwhile, many Danes buy their alcohol in Germany, which has an even lower alcohol tax.
Meanwhile, environmentalists are literally driven insane by all of this extra driving people do to avoid their own country's regulatory regime!
