–in a nutshell. Unions are dying in the private sector since they tend to kill off the industries they dominate. Their last desperate foothold is government and government-funded industries. Organized labor has no significant future unless they can expand the government’s share of the economy. Health care is their best option at the moment.
That, plus, the government bureacracy required to administrate and provide this monstrosity will require employees who are guaranteed to be union employees.
