US Car Sales Close to Year Low

When the mad manipulation stops, the crash returns.

US car and light truck sales came close to plumbing new 2009 lows in September.

GM’s sales dived by 45 per cent from September 2008, an unusually strong month, and by more than a third from August. Chrysler was down 42 per cent. Toyota reported a 13 per cent drop, while Ford Motor’s sales shrank by a more modest 5 per cent.

Total industry sales dipped to an annual rate of about 9.22m units last month, from 14.1m in August and 12.6m in September 2008. The low for the year was February’s 9.12m, according to Autodata.
