Pelosi: Prison Time For Not Buying Health Insurance is “Very Fair”

I am really not sure who Sandra Rose is. It appears she has some kind of Hollywood celebrity blog, but she sure understands prison, Nancy Pelosi and, it appears, the constitution. She writes:
Remember kiddies, if ObamaCare passes and you don’t buy health insurance you’re going to prison. I keep forgetting that you think health care will be free!

House speaker Nancy Pelosi (who I think has a touch of Alzheimer’s) confirmed this legislation again today during a press conference.

Shomari Stone, KOMO reporter: “Do you think it’s fair to send people to jail for not buying health insurance?”

Pelosi: … I think the legislation is very fair in this respect.

Pelosi also mumbled something about people getting sick and sending the bill to the taxpayer.

Does that happen now?

Pelosi made it clear that even though it’s unconstitutional to force Americans to buy anything, the Obama administration is going to try and do it anyway. Only the illegal immigrants, elderly and chronically unemployed (homeless) are exempt from this rule.

The feds better start building new prisons!

  1. Let's have a look at the Constitution to see who really needs to go to prison.

First, contrary to what Constitution-impaired federal lawmakers like Pelosi argue about the Commerce clause (Article I, Section 8, Clause 3), Congress has no power to regulate intrastate healthcare in the name of regulating interstate commerce. This is evidenced by the following excerpt from the writings of a very respected constitutional expert.

“For the power given to Congress by the Constitution does not extend to the internal regulation of the commerce of a State, (that is to say of the commerce between citizen and citizen,) which remain exclusively with its own legislature; but to its external commerce only, that is to say, its commerce with another State, or with foreign nations, or with the Indian tribes.” –Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson’s Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank : 1791.

In fact, the USSC has already tested the idea of Congress regulating medicine, deciding against Congress.

“Direct control of medical practice in the states is obviously beyond the power of Congress.” –-Linder v. United States, 1925.

One reason that the corrupt federal government continues to overstep its constitutional limits in healthcare regulation is this. Pro-big federal government, outcome-driven justices nominated by constitutionally clueless Socialist FDR perverted the reasonable interpretation of the Commerce clause in the 1940s.

The bottom line is that the Congressmen who vote yes on Obamacare will make a handy list of lawmakers who need to be charged with treason for blatantly violating their oaths to defend the Constitution.

Finally, the following words of Thomas Jefferson are appropriate for any official action by the Oval Office and Congress where the passing of illegal Obamacare legislation is concerned.

“Where powers are assumed which have not been delegated, a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy.” –Thomas Jefferson: Draft Kentucky Resolutions, 1798.

  2. Bravo!! Someone finally brings up what I consider the most offensive part of the "health care" legislation. It forces everyone to buy insurance or go to jail!!

Congress has violated the constitution so many times their actions have become meaningless relative to this document. The true test is whether the idea that the right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness is unalienable remains in the hearts and minds of the people.

Otherwise we will descend into the world of "pelosi knows best" where everyone will try to live an everyone else's expense.
