Poll: People Know They Are Being Lied To By Politicians

Only 4% of voters say politicians keep the promises they make when they run for office.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 76% say the majority of politicians do not keep the promises they make on the campaign trail. 19% say they aren’t sure.

Forty-five percent (45%) believe politicians lie because they deliberately made a false promise to get elected. Forty-three percent (43%) say unforeseen events after they took office forced the politicians to break their promises.

It continues to amaze me that no one launches a campaign to throw politicians in jail if they break their campaign promises.

Have them sign a pledge on any issues they choose, don't force them, just give them the opportunity. If they break any pledge where they have officially signed not to, throw them in the slammer for twice as long as the period that the elective office service would be for.
