Bernie Harassing Bennie

Senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont said today that he would try to stop the Senate from confirming Ben Bernanke to a second term as chairman of the Federal Reserve, by using a technical "block".

This means Bernanke will have to get 60 votes in his favor rather than a simple majority.

Bennie will get the votes, but it will just prolong the show for the rest of us. Think of it as overtime.

The insiders are not losing any sleep over this. In fact they may applaud it as "democracy being played out."
