CPI Index Up 2.7% for 2009

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the December Consumer Price Index rose 0.1 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in a report oday. Over the last 12 months, the index increased 2.7 percent.

But remember this is NOT what the government will use to determine such things as Social Security cost of living adjustments. They use a more convoluted number for that, which will show a decline in prices for 2009.
