House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y.) has scheduled a hearing for Wednesday focusing on the AIG bailout. Treasury Secretary Geithner and New York Fed general counsel Thomas C. Baxter Jr are scheduled to testify, along with a former AIG executive and Neil M. Barofsky, the special inspector general for the bailout program.
The committee will be verbally tough on these guys, I mean really put on a show. But nothing of consequence will happen unless the word comes down that someone needs to be taken out.
