Viresh Amin emails to point out that the FDIC added LibertyPointe Bank of NYC to their failed list, today. What's up with this?
I read that this was done in deference to the religious leanings of the bank staff, who are mostly observant Jews. I have not seen this level of deference before. Does this mean they will never close a bank on Good Friday? It doesn't matter to me. They should close insolvent banks at the first available moment.
