On Wednesday, Deputy Treasury Secretary Neal Wolin will be in Bethlehem to deliver remarks at the Palestine Investment Conference. According to the Treasury, "His participation reflects the United States' support for Palestinian economic development and private sector growth."
Wolin will meet on Wednesday with Palestinian Authority (PA) Prime Minister and Finance Minister Salam Fayyad to discuss Treasury's support for the Prime Minister's efforts to improve the business climate and build the institutions and economy of a future Palestinian state.
Wolin will also meet separately with Palestinian Monetary Authority Governor Jihad al-Wazir and PA Minister of the National Economy Hassan Abu Libdeh.
In the evening, Deputy Secretary Wolin will meet with members of the Palestinian business community to discuss the state of the Palestinian economy and banking sector, before attending the Palestine Investment Conference working dinner.
