Hayek on Compromise

Enclosed is a short article that Hayek wrote in January of 1945 on "Genius for Compromise," in response to some commentators on and critics of "The Road to Serfdom." (It is not included in Caldwell's edition of the book.)

In the context of our current and possible future political and economic drift, I thought you might find it of interest.

  1. By Hayek's own admission in the last paragraph, Great Britain would have already been doomed as the intellectual momentum was at that point under way toward socialism.
