A Genius Idea from a Marketing Genius

Gary North is one of the best economic analysts in the country. He has been writing about economics for a long time. He met, and to differing degrees, knew the great Austrian economists, Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich Hayek and Murray Rothbard.  (Read this great piece by North about Hayek) With others, he conducted an extensive interview of Hayek, Here is part one of the interview. Part two is here.

But in addition to being a great economist, North is a great marketing strategist.  I have been following him for a long time and it amazes me as to the number of marketing projects he has going on at one time. I tell you it is truly stunning. Start following North closely for awhile and you will know what I mean. You think you have a grasp on all North is doing and then suddenly out of nowhere, you learn of even another major project he has been working on.  Most of them have some kind of superior marketing angle. He is a marketing genius.

At the recent Mises Sponsors Summit, at the end of the day I found North holding court for about a dozen students. They were peppering him with questions about strategy and he stood there for hours answering their question telling them about this technique and that. The students were busily taking notes.  He included a number of  internet tools that he was using. Keep in mind that these are college students who use the internet every day. North most assuredly remembers the days of computer punch cards, and before.  Most people who remember the pre-punch card era don't know intricate details of the internet. Yet, when North walked away from the group for a minute, one of the students looked up and said about North, "He knows more about the internet than I do."

All of which brings me to a free North email that I subscribe to. This week he gives away one of the most valuable internet marketing ideas out there. I'll let North take over and explain it from here. It's pure genuie, pay attention:

Gary North's Tip of the Week - October 16, 2010 YouTube Channel

=====================================================

If you had registered a two-letter domain name 15 years ago,
it would be worth a lot of money. I got a 4-letter domain. I
could sell it today if I wanted to. I plan to trade it for one
that I want even more -- I think.

I regard a free YouTube video channel as future money in the
bank. There are names available today that won't be in 3-4 years.

You can secure ownership and keep it for free forever in a
matter of minutes.

I have posted videos on how to use a YouTube channel. You can
view them here:

I locked in BiblicalEconomics on both YouTube and Blip.tv. I
am planning to start posting videos next year. But I wanted to
make sure I controlled the names.

Got that? Control the names. Lock them in. It's future money in the bank.
