In 2009, Rand Paul was interviewed by the Alex Jones produced Infowars.com show. It appears that the interview was delayed in being released by Jones until after the election, so that Paul's senate race did not become about Jones. The interview is now out and it's great that it is.
It clearly displays Paul's sophisticated understanding of economics and liberty. Paul even gets that QE1 money went into the monetary base, but not into the economic system. Many economists and Fed watchers still don't get this point. Here's the interview (in 2 parts)

As a strong supporter of "the troops" and US militarism world-wide, Rand Paul seems like a less than ideal candidate to represent the Security Trumps Liberty-Skeptics wing.
