BRIC Investments the Investment of a Lifetime?

Goldman Sachs Asset Management Chairman Jim O'Neill says investing in the consumer markets of the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) markets is the investment of a life time. Keep in mind, he is talking long-term. On a short-term basis, China, for example, will have to deal with huge inflation.

There's great potential when you look at the size of the populations involved, but a lot will depend on economic policies. In China, for example, there is talk of price controls, if they are enacted it will destroy the consumer market. In other words, you really have to understand what is going on in the countries and make sure there are no major government obstructions.

  1. This just in: investing in the consumer markets of Planet Earth could be the investment of a lifetime! With a population of over 6 billion (yes, BILLION, with a "B") people and growing, this could be an incredibly lucrative market in the long-run!

Conant Advisors is putting a big "Buy" on Planet Earth.

  2. LOL @ Taylor. But in fact, I would like to issue a big SELL on consumer markets long-term, since we are inevitably facing lower living-standards as a result of the welfare state collapse ahead. I suggest a BUY on smart friends, gold, self-sustainable living and anarchism.
