On Wednesday morning, Treasury Secretary Geithner will deliver remarks at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies , where he will discuss the economic relationship between the U.S. and China, ahead of President Hu’s state visit to Washington.
According to the Treasury, in his speech, "Secretary Geithner will say that building a closer, stronger economic relationship is essential to America’s interests and to China’s. He will outline a path for mutual cooperation and success at a time of important transition for the world economy, the Chinese economy, and the U.S. economy."
Bottom line: Geithner hopes the Chinese continue to buy Treasury securities.
