Issa to Bank America: Name Names

Congressman Daniel Issa, the head of the House of Representatives oversight committee, has issued a subpoena to Bank of America Corp for information about mortgage lender Countrywide's home loans program for VIPs, aka the "Friends of Angelo" program, referring to former Countrywide president Angelo Mozilla.

Issa said he is giving Bank of America Corp., which acquired Countrywide in 2008, until noon on March 7 to produce a wide range of documents, including the names of VIP program participants who were members of Congress, federal employees, or employees of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. He is looking at whether the VIP loans were intended to influence lawmakers or policy makers.

  1. "He is looking at whether the VIP loans were intended to influence lawmakers or policy makers."

Does anyone think that's what they weren't intended to do?
