It is hardcore de-centralized grassroots organization that puts Ron Paul over the top on straw poll after straw poll. Politico analyzes the phenomena here.
The big question is now that they have one presidential campaign under their belts (2008), will Ron Paul's hardcore supporters be able to advance the campaign into winning some primaries? They have the savviest internet operators in politics and Ron Paul's open source campaign method means that if any creative ways to reach out to voters comes about, there's a good chance it will develop out of Paul's vast independent network. A Ron Paul presidential campaign is always exciting and educates many people about liberty, so let's hope the enthusiastic support he is getting at this year's CPAC convention convinces him to run again.
