Understanding the Spent Fuel Problem

A very good analysis by Rachel Maddow of the spent fuel problems at the Fukushima Dai-ichi power plant in Japan. The best I have seen. If she only took as much care to understand Austrian economics.

  1. This is wrong. After rods are taken out they still have plenty of energy. They need to be and can easily be recycled, and put back in the reactor. The only reason they aren't is government stupidity. The great thing about nuclear energy is that the fuel decays to almost nothing. The waste problem is entirely political.
