At 10 am on Tuesday, Treasury Secretary Geithner will testify before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government on the President’s Fiscal Year 2012 Budget.
The Secretary will outline , according to the Treasury, the ways in which the FY 2012 Budget "continues support for the economic recovery with targeted investments in areas intended to spur job creation and economic growth; reforms the way the federal government does business; and advances our national security and global economic interests."
In other words, he will outline in generalities who President Obama wants to pay off this year.
In the afternoon, the Secretary will meet separately with Senators Hatch and Hagan on Capitol Hill, to discuss in more detail how things will be divvied up.
