Inflation in Russia

Official statistics in Russia show that price inflation in that country is at inflation climbing at annual rate of 9.5% y/y.

Naturally, the true inflation picture is likely worse than the official statistics.

What do you think is at work here? Are the central bankers in Russia running the printing presses or is this a result of QE2 bidding up prices all over the world? A combination of both?

  2. Definitely Putin running the printing presses.
