Coffee Prices May Rise 40%

The weakening of La NiƱa (the weather phenomenon that cools down water in the Pacific Ocean) is increasing the probability of frost damage to coffee plants in Brazil, reports the San Francisco Cjronicle.

This weather related crop problem can't be blamed on Bernnake money printing, but earlier price hikes can be.
Kraft Foods, which makes Maxwell House and Yuban, raised prices about 22 percent in March. And Smucker's, the maker of Folgers, had a 10 percent increase in February.
