The Tax Policy Center has updated its figures on the income distribution in America. Household income at the 50th percentile versus household income at the 51st percentile is $42,327 versus $43,564. Household income between the 98th percentile and the 99th percentile is $360,435 versus $506,553. But, household income at the 99.5th percentile is $815,868, while at the 99.9th percentile is more than double that, at $2,075,574 a year.
