Ron Paul on the Sneaky Way Congress Will Raise Taxes and Keep the War in Libya Going

This is a very instructive video on why it is very dangerous to take headline news coming out of Washington D.C. at face value.

In the below interview, Ron Paul discusses with Judge Napolitano how taxes might be raised during a budget deal, but not be called an increase in taxes.w And how a call for President Obama to cease hostilities in Libya will actually allow him to keep such war actions going.

  1. If Dr Paul can win the Republican nom for prez (and I fear that TPTB will do everything within their considerable powers to slander and belittle him to the public if he even comes close) then I hope he picks Judge Napolitano as VP. What a powerful force for freedom that man is! I've only watched FreedomWatch a few times but the Judge is one of the brightest lights in the liberty movement, and I would love to see him have a bigger platform.

  2. Just a shame that he would inevitably be confused with the unspeakable HS person of the same name.

  4. Yep, we still have a basically corrupt & gutless Congress that gives a "pass" to the even more corrupt Obama.

  6. The only people who seem to really appreciate these types of facts are people who work hard. Unfortunately when 47% pay no federal tax and 15% of those on social security pay no tax, there are not enough people who vote to change our system

  8. Ron Paul is playing with fire if he thinks he will stop fractualization or go to the gold standard. I have no doubt those who control themost powerful force on earth will elliminate him.
I suggest he control and direct the power to create to alternative energy which will bring back strength to the usdolar and full employment.

This task alone will set him against mighty forces and he will find he will be branded a socialist by his very own .
18th century republicanism can not deal with 21st century problems.
there is no longer an open country with a few indians to elminate.
what u have is washington gridlock.
the present reality for the US is the creation of trillions of dollars on fluff and speculation .How long does the US seriuosly expect to be world empire when it is so irresponsible and careless about its own survival let alone deal with world issues.

  9. It appears the last poster does not understand that Ron Paul is for allowing there to be free competition to the worthless dollar with gold or silver. Alternative energy? That will not solve any problems now. Frankly the 21st Century "solutions" of the Republicrat government aren't solving any issues just saddling us with trillions of debt each year, Give Ron Paul a chance to end warfare and corporate bankster welfare and give America a chance to survive!

  10. I would like to see JESSE VENTUREA run for VP, but the sheep in the US are unaware of VENTURA'S intellect just because he was in a PREDATOR movie and was a WWF wrestler. Its too bad that JESSE VENTURA is judged like a book's cover

However, a JUDGE NAPOLITANO VP is not a bad idea either. As for RON PAUL, his actions prove he is the right man for the job. He is really one of the few ardent CONSTITUTIONALISTS in the GOP. Still though, whether we have a PAUL, NAPOLITANO, or a VENTURA in the OVAL OFFICE, 4 years is not enough time to bring about all the positive change this USA so desperately needs.

Nevertheless, we need a hero in the vein of a JFK, REAGAN, WASHINGTON, ANDREW JACKSON, or EISHENHOWER, and we need him so bad!! And all those presidents weren't perfect either...Hell, under REAGAIN, the US primary education system became completely modeled under the COMMUNIST SYSTEM...

  11. When you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing, it rests softly inside your being with no judgment, no guilt & no imbalance. You KNOW!

  12. @Dale I'd rather see the Judge as AG. Maybe Rand as VP? The debates against biden would be awesome.

  15. ron paul is a genuine man, who i think has principles that can't be bought.

nevertheless, he's clueless. the US used to raise much more revenue. tax revenue as a share of GDP is at 14.4%, as opposed to 18% under Reagan, and more than that before...

that revenue used to fund INVESTMENTS in the economy.. like the computer. anyone have a computer? that was a government research program for 30 years before Bill Gates came along.

ron paul, and the 0 tax republicans are the reason the US will not lead the next technological revolution.

people say they've never seen a tax increase create a job... that's dumb.. if it's invested PROPERLY (not on welfare cases, but in research, infrastructure, etc.) these investments will eventually pay off.

  16. If the 1.6 Trillion of US Treasury bonds that Bernake bought with Federal Reserve "currency" was cancelled, it would immediately balance the budget. If the Empire of US military bases around the world would cease and the troops brought home, that would save another 1.6 Trillion to create a 1.6 Trillion surplus. It now costs $1 Million a year to keep One soldier in Afganistan. The USSR found out what happens to an economy of a county at war for 10 years.
We knew what happened to the USSR by staying in their war for 10 years. We knew what happened to our economy from staying in Vietnam for 10 years. Everyone said we learned and would not do it again. Well, it has been spent and the bill is at the door, and we have all been paying, ask the Federal Reserve, and we will continue to pay. The goal of the terrorist was to destroy our economy, the symbol the World Trade Center. We swallowed hook, line, and sinker. In return we are frisked at all mass transit terminals, our phones wiretapped, next intenet monitoring, our currency devalued. It is high time someone cares about strengthening our country instead of wasting vast amount of resources that end up causing hardships for the US citizens, and little else.
