  1. Paul stumped the clueless Bernanke with the gold question. Paul is right, why not hold diamonds? Or barrels of oil? Or copper?

    Good stuff.

  2. The last minute of that video is priceless (at least in terms of fiat money).

  3. Anyone know if the young lady in the background works for the fed? she cant stop giggling when Dr.Paul asks about gold.

  4. I wonder if Greenspan would of said no under the same circumstance.

  5. That's awesome on so many levels. The Bernank's pause and equivocating "no" should (and most likely will) become the latest and greatest Internet YouTube meme. It will haunt him for the rest of his life once gold hits $3,000/oz in the next few months.

  6. Good Question from Anon. on wondering about Greenspan!

I hope Greenspan lives long enough to see the misery he helped create in full blossom.

That way there's no questions on his part when he's remanded to hell once he kicks the can.

  8. How can everyone not love this man, putting the oligarchy right in there place, time and time again, I'm Canadian, and I'd vote for him to be our Prime Minister

  9. Check out the forbes website. They spin it as "In Exchange With Ron Paul, Bernanke Lands Best Punch".

For Forbes, up is really down.

  10. You know when the only answer a suit can come up with is "tradition," that you've cleaned his clock.

That's like saying "we keep gold because it's dictated by our religion."

  11. Poor Bernanke. He's just a punching bag; a court jester.

Either that, or he really is in control... o_O

  12. Tradition? I couldn't stop laughing after I heard that. I've heard Benny stumble on unexpected questions before, but this one really takes the cake.

  13. Bernanke: What a dumba--? And to think these are kind of people we have for leadership.

  14. Robert. My donation to Dr. Paul was well spent. The silver haired fox from Texas showed this two bit banker who has the brains. I could not watch this enough. A priceless moment in time. This banker snake got what he deserved, embarrassment. Bernanke got tarred and feathered in less than one minute. Stupid prick he is, good on him!

  15. I shall forever remember the moment just before he uttered in a mealy-mouth fashion "tradition?" as the "BERNANKE PAUSE." It was priceless and spoke volumes. He's the freakin' head of the largest central bank on the planet and doesn't know why gold is held as a reserve.

To the extent this exchange gains any traction I am sure that Rep. Paul will be lambasted for using the the term "housewife?" The ruling class/media's response will be "Don't listen to this misogynist dinosaur. His view that gold is money is as antiquated as his view of a woman's place in society."

  16. If Bernanke dusted off Title 31 of the US Code and started reading, he might be surprised to find how many gold coins are legal tender.
