Obama's Plan to Win: Court Lefties, Poor and Minorities

Obama political strategists have a game plan to win that does not include middle class whites, reports NYT's Thomas Edsall:
All pretense of trying to win a majority of the white working class has been effectively jettisoned [by the Obama campaign] in favor of cementing a center-left coalition made up, on the one hand, of voters who have gotten ahead on the basis of educational attainment — professors, artists, designers, editors, human resources managers, lawyers, librarians, social workers, teachers and therapists — and a second, substantial constituency of lower-income voters who are disproportionately African-American and Hispanic.

  1. Government says 'Don't look at skin color...treat everyone equally. In fact, since we don't trust you little people to do this on your own, we'll make some laws that force you.'

Meanwhile, the government itself is absolutely obsessed with skin color. Categorizing people into this group or that...Taking a census to verify what color you are...Changing its pitch to get your vote depending on what race you happen to be.

Classic case of "do as I say, not as I do."

  2. Is it just me or is "educated whites" now just a euphemism for "non-unionized government sector"?

  3. This NYT oped is so pathetic and racist but even setting that aside, I find it hard to beleive that anyone with a brain would compare the economic prosperity potential of a lawyer to a social worker, teacher or artist. They aren't even close! Interesting as well that Doctor is not on the list. Maybe they felt that would be too big of a stretch?

  4. 6 of 10 career types of the above are directly employed by government in some fashion, and good chance the other 4 types partially depend on some kind of government assistance directly or for the firms which they are employed.

Barry Suetoro's leadership skills seems to have gone AWL somewhere in South Chicago long time ago.Even to his mesmerized "I wanit all for nutin-pay my mortgage-Lama Bama devout crowd" unfulfilled promises are more than enough to make him ring hollow with every teleprompter word he is saying now days.
