Occupy Wall Street Protesters Shut Down Bachmann Speech
About 30 Occupy Wall Street protesters have interrupted a foreign policy speech by Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann in South Carolina.
Bachmann was delivering the speech Thursday on the deck of the mothballed aircraft carrier USS Yorktown near Charleston when the protesters stood up and began shouting, "Mike check!" They thenn began reading off of written prepared remarks, in the fashion seen regularly among OWS events, where one speaker shouts words and the other occupiers repeat them
Bachmann was escorted off the stage by a police escort. It is not known at this time if she was able to resume her speech.

Will the socialists cheerleaders interrupt a democrat's speech? They don't realize how ignorant they are.
ReplyDeleteHeck of a crowd she had there. Minus the protesters, handlers and cops, what was it, about 14 people?
ReplyDeleteCharleston is one of the more liberal places in the state. There was an Occupy Columbia, the state capital, but that received at most about 30 people for no more than one day. I can expect that most of the people in Charleston not allowing her to speak weren't even from South Carolina. Not that I care about Bachmann as a candidate, but being from SC, most natives don't bleed commie blue.
ReplyDeleteIdk about you but that repeating thing is so creepy to me. It really reminds me of some Orwell story.
ReplyDeleteBachmann doesn't have the balls to stand up to the occupiers.
ReplyDeleteDespite the few ows-ers who know what is going on, I can't help but despise the group as a whole. The ones I have seen in person are essentially bums with nothing better to do. "We are the 99%!" might as well be "We are the collective!"
I couldn't really tell what they were saying. People are justified in their anger, I just wish they would direct it to the right place.
