The CIA and Global Insurance Companies

In reference to CIA and the Ford Foundation, an executive at a global insurance company emails:
I remember the time a colleague, who previously worked for an extremely prominent international insurance company (now headed by a former MetLife chairman) in the Philippines, started talking with me (ex-Air Force) and another colleague (ex-Marine) about SCIFs (pronounced “skiffs”), which are for storing and communicating extremely highly classified information. No one in insurance knows about SCIFs. As soon as the sentence slipped out of his mouth he looked at his feet and changed topics. He also had a keen interest in who was on top in Filipino politics.

The whole situation was extremely interesting but not surprising.

the average cleared individual would not be perturbed by the mention of a SCIF. were there any attractive women standing nearby?
