Failing to Elder-Proof Your Windows May Cost You $1 Million

Iris Mack emails:

Approaching an Apple store in Long Island, New York, an 83-year old woman said she didn’t realize she was heading straight for a wall of glass. She smashed her face against it, breaking her nose.

Now this woman is suing Apple for $1 million, saying the company was negligent for not elderly-proofing the store’s see-through facade.

  1. I did that once on a friend's sliding glass door he had apparently just cleaned. I thought it was open and ran into it face first. There was a face print on it that must have looked similar to the shroud of Turin. We got a good laugh about that.

  2. Frivolous lawsuit reform is needed. If a judge deems the lawsuit frivolous, the defendant has the right to counter sue for lawyer fees and some.
