Is Al Gore about to Clone Himself?

I know, the thought shudders the mind.

But get a load of this. WaPo is reporting that Gore is in a serious relationship with a very wealthy woman:
...things seem to have worked out for Al Gore. The Nobel Peace Prize laureate and former VP has a serious girlfriend, we’ve learned.
Her name is Elizabeth Keadle — better known as Liz — a well-heeled Democratic donor from Southern California in her 50s with a background in science and a devotion to environmental causes.
The relationship is solid enough that she accompanied Gore, 64, and an eclectic group of experts and VIPs (Richard Branson, singer Jason Mraz, actor Tommy Lee Jones) on a trip to Antarctica in January to raise awareness of climate change.
WaPo then tells us that (my bold):
Keadle and her ex-husband, biotech entrepreneur Lyle Turner, were both generous donors to Democrats; in the early part of the past decade, she gave at least $100K to a DNC building fund; in 2002, she was named to a committee that helped select the site of the ’04 Democratic National Convention.
Well, ahem, Keadle and her ex weren't into just average everyday biotech work. They owned a company called Invitrogen Corporation. Keadle regularly was identified as an executive at Invitrogen. In 2009, the company was merged with another that then became Life Technoloigies. Keadle and her ex do not appear to be active at Life Technologies.

What is fascinating though is what was going on at Invitrogen when Keadle and ex were in charge. Among other services, the firm provided cloning support service. The Invitrogen site is down, but when you do a google search of "Invitrogen and cloning" these links come up to pages that no longer exist:

It sure provides a fascinating glimpse into how Gore's new squeeze made her money.

Here's more via a 1999 press release put out by Invitrogen:
SAN DIEGO, CA, December 6, 1999 — Invitrogen Corporation (NASDAQ: IVGN) today introduced the Echo™ Cloning System, which makes possible fast and reliable cloning of any gene into multiple expression vectors. The Echo System dramatically reduces the time and effort associated with cloning DNA for expression analysis, speeding the drug research and discovery process.

The first commercially available system of its kind, the Echo System brings Invitrogen's highly-efficient TOPO® Cloning technology and its advanced expression systems together with a novel univector plasmid-fusion system developed by Stephen J. Elledge, Ph.D., professor of biochemistry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Baylor will be paid a royalty under a license agreement with Invitrogen.

"Echo Cloning makes obsolete the need for traditional subcloning, a troublesome, time-consuming step in gene expression and analysis," said Lyle Turner, Chairman and CEO of Invitrogen. "Using Invitrogen's efficient TOPO Cloning technology, scientists now need to clone and sequence a construct only once. The clone is then recombined or 'echoed' into other expression vectors — ranging from bacterial to mammalian cells — simultaneously. The process works on any gene and can be automated, providing a tremendous time saver for researchers."

Now, when Keadle and ex weren't playing around with cloning (to be fair, the cloning appears to be at the gene level), you guessed it, they managed to get biological defense contracts. Wikipedia lays it out:
Under a contract from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), the company developed a prototype hand-held pathogen detection system for the detection of multiple toxins such as ricin, staphylococcal enterotoxin, and botulinum toxin, as well as bacteria that cause anthrax, plague, and other diseases, in a single sample.
This should come in handy to create a little kaching, kaching during the next false flag.

What's the Defense Threat Reduction Agency?
DTRA is an agency within the United States Department of Defense and is the official Combat Support Agency for countering weapons of mass destruction (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high explosives).
Yes, leave it to Al Gore to provide us with a clue that takes us deeper into the military-industrial complex. Further, one has to wonder, given the connection that Invitrogen had into the Defense Department, if the relationship stopped at  a pathogen detection system, or did it go on, undisclosed (for security reasons, of course), into Invitrogen's work in cloning.

We'll probably never know for sure, unless Al Gore is spotted in two different places at the same time.

  1. I worked in various labs for over a decade (phd, post-doc...). I can tell you Invitrogen/Life Tech makes very powerful tools for the biomed research industry. More than their defense contracts, I would say they reaped larger benefits during the Clinton/Gore years when NIH budgets greatly increased, creating a large, lucrative market for Invitrogen products. As far as Al Gore cloning himself... no need, he has birthed a great number of ideological clones that will ensure his legacy for generations.

  2. Hey, if it weren't for Big Al inventing the internet we'd never have had a Facebook!

  3. Anonymous #1: Have you purchased Invitrogen products since the merger? As far as this scientist can tell, things are very unorganized there, especially with their online ordering.

  4. You can clone a person, but it will NEVER be the same person. If you think about your own life, then you are what you've been taught, what you've read, seen, heard, experienced. Every single detail has an amazingly huge effect on your life. How could Al Gore possibly make sure his son has the exact same life (parents, friends, school, job, etc)? Im-freakin-possible.

    2. If I recall this was the plot of the underappreciated film with Scarlet Johanneson and Ewan McGregor, The Island.

Good flick, questionable moral practices but I admit the desire for replacement parts would be great.

  6. Wouldn't surprise me. The Singularity Institute, TED talks about immortality & attacks on christianity suggests tptb want immortality. They want human experimentation to start ASAP. Not that I have a beef with mankind searching for that holy grail, trouble is they want it for themselves and they want the elixir to come at the cost of everyone else's blood.

    1. I think that's just paranoia coming from the anti-humanist camp. While they certainly aren't libertarian institutions, I don't see anything wrong with the kind of work TED or the Singularity Institute does. There's nothing wrong or unethical for wanting anything for yourself, and nothing I've seen suggests anything they're doing "at the cost of everyone else's blood" (sucking on government's teats aside; something everyone has to do including churches and non-profits)

    2. In addition, there's nothing inherently wrong at all with human experimentation. That's what clinical trials for any kind of treatment are, after all. If it's done *voluntarily* why should it matter whether the experimentation is for some cancer drug or nano-machines for example?

    3. I have no problem with voluntarism. My beef is with forced vaccinations.

Nowhere did I state I was against the work being done at those Institutions. I'm against being a lab rat. As Mr Wenzel pointed out in his talk at the FED, Bernanke seems to think it's OK to experiment with the population, i.e. operation twist. If these clowns think that is OK they won't hesitate to go further.

BTW, I'm not anti-Marxist Humanism, I just believe they're a bunch of fools from what I've read about them.......http://www.amazon.com/Higher-Superstition-Academic-Quarrels-Science/dp/0801857074/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337473020&sr=8-1

    4. One more thing.....I do like Peter Diamandis from the SI. He gives me the impression he's a closet anarcho-capitalist.

Captain Eric H. May writes at Veterans Today about the next potential false flag attack (click here). As others (such as Carl Herman at the Kansas City Examiner - click here) have speculated, he believes it may occur in Chicago during the NATO summit, unless word is quickly spread across the internet in order to spoil the surprise.

I encourage everyone to do a quick Google search to see who owns the Sears Tower. You will be shocked to learn that, since 2004, it is the same person who owned the three demolished World Trade Center buildings.

P.S. "Captain Eric H. May is a former Army NCO and officer, with specialties in nuclear, biological and chemical warfare, military intelligence and public affairs. He is also a former NBC editorial writer who has published widely, from Military Intelligence Magazine to The Wall Street Journal."

  8. In the context this technology is referring to, "cloning" simply means making new copies of strands of DNA, a very common and simple biological technique. TOPO technology is cool for a cell biologist, boring for the average Joe...in other words, nowhere even remotely near Dolly the sheep. I hate the military industrial complex as much as the next libertarian, but there is nothing here more than your tired old state granted privilege.
