On Monday, Treasury Secretary Geithner will attend meetings at the G-20 Summit in Los Cabos, Mexico, as the U.S. attempts to muscle the eurozone into money printing.
The U.S. controlled World Bank saw its president, Robert Zoellick, state that it is "an absolutely critical time" and warning Europe not to squander this opportunity for decisive action.
"We are waiting for Europe to tell us what it is going to do," Zoellick said.
"The danger we're creating is the danger of policymaking that is increasing uncertainty and making markets more nervous, which has a negative feedback loop," he said on Sunday at a business meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit, according to Reuters.
Geithner's meetings will go well beyond the eurozone, though.
In the morning, he will join President Obama’s bilateral meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
At midday, Geithner will meet with Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan.
In the afternoon, the Secretary will attend the first plenary session of the G-20 Summit with the President.
In the evening, Secretary Geithner will participate in a working dinner with G-20 Finance Ministers.
The Secretary will remain overnight in Los Cabos, Mexico.
