In the last week, I have received two separate emails from long-time EPJ readers, who it turns out both played in the St. Louis Cardinals baseball organization.
Is there any chance you can tell us what years they played for the Cardinals? I'm a Met fan and was very anti-Cardinals back in the 80's but it's water under the bridge now and I'd be more than happy to praise these guys.
I wonder if it's Whitey Herzog. I remember reading once that he only sleeps like a couple of hours a night (maybe it was 5) and he spends the rest of the time reading. Maybe he spent some of his free time reading about economics.
Finding lately that there are many more 'needles in the haystack' (= like-minded people) out there than ever before. It's a ray of sunshine in the gloom. Maybe our thoughts will be accepted in polite company, soon enough. ;)
Albert Pujols and Ozzie Smith?
