To the limited degree that numbers exist, they suggest that the proportion of intermarriages of American Jews and Asian-Americans is growing. Statistics alone, though, tell only part of the relevant story. The Jewish-Asian love affair, as the research by Ms. Kim, 39, and Mr. Leavitt, 42, indicates, is built on a deep sense of shared commitment to “tight-knit families, hard work, and educational advancement,” as they wrote in the journal Contemporary Judaism.

Jews and Asians are the smartest ethnicities out there, they like having smart children. Also everyone in America is fat now except Asian women. Makes them comparatively much more attractive.

I'm not American, but I'm a Caucasian women with a BMI of 17.8 and a master's degree. My husband is Asian. I'm not fat, he's open-minded enough to be able to marry outside of his race, and both of us are smart.

ReplyDeleteI tend to date mostly Asian women. I'm more of a nerdy type, and most white girls I meet don't really appreciate that (they want a jock or tall/dark/handsome). Asian women are more impressed with me starting a business and having a chemical engineering background. I can always date a far cuter Asian girl (or black girl for some odd reason) than I can a white girl.

I am moving from the US to China to continue a relationship with a Chinese lady, which may ultimately lead to a marriage. I have been married to a French Jew--seven long hard years. Beside the benefit of two wonderful sons from that encounter, I can't say much else good about it.
ReplyDeletePeople fall in love because of their mutual interests concomitant with physical attraction. There is a growing trend of people (not just Jews and Asians) getting into interracial relationships. This is expected in a racially heterogeneous society. Being an alumnus of an Ivy League, Jews and Asians made up about 50% of the student body. Statistically it makes sense that some Jews/Asians will get together.
ReplyDeleteWe were intellectually compatible and share similar values. We are attracted to each other and Jewish men are not intimidated by me, as most Asian men are due to my education. I would never marry a Jewish man though, because I don't want to be a Shiksa who creates controversy with their family. It's just not worth breaking up a family. I'm also a staunch Catholic and passing on Catholic values to my children are very important. My close Jewish friend married a Black woman and she converted to Judaism. I can never do that, but if I was a secular Asian, maybe? I don't know.
