Peter Schiff to Take Over G. Gordon Liddy Radio Slot

After 20 years in national syndication, G. Gordon Liddy (81) will be retiring from his daily radio program on the Radio America network. Liddy’s final show will be Friday 7/27. I have been a guest on Liddy's show. Although, he's not a libertarian, I was impressed with Liddy's knowledge of economic events. It was far beyond that of most talking heads.

Taking over the M-F 10:00 am – Noon ET time slot will be Peter Schiff. Schiff’s recently released third book, The Real Crash: America’s Coming Bankruptcy – and How to Save Yourself and Your Country, debuted at # 11 on the New York Times bestseller list this week. On Thursday, Peter testified before a Congressional Subcommittee about the potential negative impact of more generous FHA loan guarantees currently being considered by Congress. He called for the abolition of the FHA.

Peter will also be my guest this week on The Robert Wenzel Show, which will be posted here, at EPJ, on Sunday, before 7:00 AM ET.

  1. This is great that Peter is getting more national attention. Imagine Peter being in Rush's shoes the last 20 years. We would have been back on the gold standard years ago.

  2. Congratulations to Peter - started out as a local show, then got picked up nationwide by Radio America but mostly weekend rebroadcasts on limited stations, and now a full blown nationwide show.

  3. Hmmm, same timeslot, same length of each show, and everything. I wonder if this has been in the works for awhile?

I listen to Peter's show every day, it is great! (schiffradio.com) I bought a copy of his book, too.

  4. This is excellent news for Stefan Molyneux and Thomas Woods who have substituted for Schiff. This will bring them a wider audience, too. Hopefully Schiff will be able to suggest substitute hosts. Perhaps even Mr. Wenzel...

  5. I hope you will take the higher road then he did, when he had you on his show. Actually I don't really hope that, but I suspect you will be fair.

  6. G Gordon's old show was amazing back in the 1990s. I remember when he advocated that federal agents who were executing illegal orders should be shot in the head and not the chest because of body armor. Gordon Liddy has always been extremely interesting and intelligent, and a lot different from almost all of the talk radio types I have observed.

Glad to see a semi-austrian getting a position of power like this.

  7. This is great news. Jerry Doyle, who endorsed Ron Paul, is number 6 in the talk radio market. I think Liddy is higher than that. Here's hoping that Schiff can build on Liddy's market. Michael Savage has also expressed some sympathies with Ron Paul. Liberty radio could become truly competitive with Limbaugh and Hannity who, from what I have heard, are losing audience.

  8. I looked, and Peter Schiff is already on that network. He has the time slot after Liddy. Liddy's show is three hours, so they will have to find someone else to fill the third hour (Tom Woods?)

  9. Rush, Levin, and Hannity have all had a sharp decrease in ratings in the last year or so.
