Wow, that is ridiculous. Maybe if the government hadn't taxed the hell out of you during your working years, in addition to debasing the value of your dollars, money wouldn't be so tight in retirement.
Wow, Some much to hate... 1. "Don't feel ashamed. EVERYBODY'S on welfare."
2. The voices are obviously African American. Talk about racial profiling. If I were black, I'd be PISSED!!! Oh, heck, I'm white and I'm STILL pissed!!!!
Paging Professor Hayek. Corn subsidies and sugar tarrifs lead to the use of HFCS in damn near every American edible produced. Environmental laws and regulations (such as geographic gasoline mixture sectors) raise the price for transportation and discourages movement of highly perishable fresh produce thus raising its price in less rural areas. People are left with little choice but to eat crappy food since they are priced out of the "good" food (read: Whole Foods and its ilk) market.
This produces a situation where the poor eat crap food because of government regulations, get fat and extremely unhealthy--problem. The rich can handle the higher cost of food on the margin and buy a healthier diet. What is government's answer to this government caused problem? Food stamps for everyone!--that is, more government.
Why is this simple narrative so hard for people to understand? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills or something.
Big Government: We're your real mother and father who take care of you. Because you can't. So, instead of having genuine relationships that reduce power and bureaucracy, we, the government, are here to eliminate the human face of compassion and self-reliance. Don't care about other people, or even yourself. Just care about the government checks we give you.
Personal note: I once dated a divorced woman with children. At the (sadly)end of the relationship, she basically told me that women do not need men because of the welfare state (she was on food stamps even though I provided enough to avoid this). Needless to say, I was crushed. It reaffirmed for me that this was not just her, but there are millions who think like her. And this is the state of our affairs in the land of liberty.
Your right Capn Mike. It takes a village to raise a village idiot. I think the quality of people has dropped since both parents work and outsource their responsibilities (I'm not saying a stay-at-home parent is right for everyone, or possible). Ever since voting has expanded, all it has contributed to, is Bastiat's observation of all plundering all. No one, woman or man, has a right to steal by majority vote.
That was creepy.

Haha, I love the part when they chuckle about WOMAN #2 being a food stamp parasite.

ReplyDeleteThat is both creepy and sick. Never mind of course that their free lunch is on the backs of their grandchildren.

Unfortunately, I hear that idea that women don't need men because of the welfare state a lot! "It takes a village" and all that.
DeleteWe should never have given them the vote!!!! (kidding (sorta))
