Today the Rumsfeld Foundation announced its 2012 microfinance grants. This year's grants, totaling $355,000, will support the work of four global microfinance organizations.
$150,000 grant to FINCA International to support its microfinance efforts and staff training in Afghanistan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
$100,000 grant to Opportunity International to support the expansion of financial services and training in Colombia.
$75,000 grant to the Grameen Foundation to support the funding of a Senior Investment Officer to lead financing activities and implement investment strategies throughout Latin America.
$30,000 grant to support ACCION International's microfinance programs in India and Latin America, focusing on improving education programs and expanding rural microfinance.
