The elite hate fathers. They teach beyond what the state apparatis would. This is why one parent (or less) households is the aim of government policy.
BTW, Feynman's explanation of his fathers instructions on birds is fundamentally significant. Read the allegory of Plato's cave and you will see what shackles his father was giving his son the keys to.
Bob, that brought a tear to my eye. Like anon @348 my dad was barely a HS grad, but he always tried to teach me HOW the world worked. I'm the luckiest guy alive to have had that education.

I'm envious. My father was a miner and never finished the 8th grade. But, he bought a set of "Book of Knowledge" and I learned a lot by reading it.
