I occasionally get readers emailing me and suggesting I get Rand Paul on the Robert Wenzel Show.
That isn't progressing too well. Although people like Oliver Stone and Steve Forbes, whom I disagree with on a number of issues, have been kind enough to agree to appear on the show (Forbes even tweeted the RWS interview link out to his followers.), it isn't going so well with Rand.
In fact, Chris Rossini, the executive producer of the Robert Wenzel Show tells me that Rand's people have stopped returning his emails. So that's where that stands. We would love to have Rand on any time.
Just like his neo-con friends, he's a coward.
ReplyDeleteObviously, coward or not, Rand Paul is no longer interested in appealing to libertarians, especially Ron Paul-Murray Rothbard-Mises libertarians.
Delete"Rand's people have stopped returning his emails."
ReplyDeleteHm. Yesterday, Mish posted a somewhat similar experience with Peter Schiff, or "Schiff's people":
http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.ch/2012/11/peter-schiff-backs-down-from-debate.html
As I understand it, Peter Schiff has consistently said that hyperinflation was a possibility, along with merely high inflation.
DeleteAt any rate, the Fed said that they want to print even past the moment they believe the economy has recovered; So, since it is artificial credit creation that caused the boom/bust cycle to begin with, then MORE money printing will make it worse.
Therefore, since the economy WON'T recover as a result of more money printing, they will have to keep printing money in order to be consistent. Logically, this eventually results in hyperinflation.
Keep in mind that prices in USD have risen 2,000% since the creation of the Fed:

"$[1.00]

Has the same buying power as:
[23.37]

Also, Peter Schiff talks about the Boskin Commission having skewed the CPI, by excluding food and gas, so they could report a lower inflation rate:

Schiff also declined to debate on RT.
ReplyDeleteYou should interview Ron instead. Why settle for the lesser of two Pauls?
ReplyDeleteForget coming on your show, if I were Rand Paul I would order a restraining order against you. You seem a little obsessed with him.
ReplyDeleteGive me a break. All politicians are fair game. If your married, I'm sure there's times your spouse would like a restraining order against you.
DeleteIt's called being professionally persistent. Happens a lot, to hopefully one day secure a wanted interview.
DeleteWenzel seems obsessed with Rand Paul? Puhleeze.
ReplyDeleteRand Paul is positioning himself for a run as President. Thank goodness Mr. Wenzel -- an honest, smart, principled interviewer -- is making the effort to sort through, exactly and early, who and what is coming our way in few years.
"Rand's people have stopped returning his emails"
ReplyDeleteGee, I wonder why?
I'm sure it has nothing to do with his name getting dragged through the mud daily on this very website.
Oh do he doesn't have the ability to go on the show and defend his name? Wenzel let's his guests talk.
DeleteThen that shows he would not be interested in counter attacking, or at least if having some guts, to defend his positions to the listeners. THE PEOPLE, in part, are on any given website! Let it be known who the cowards are. And he wants to be your Latex Salesman?
DeleteConsidering that Peter Schiff apppears wherever he's invited and constantly invites people on his own show, it seems a bit ridiculous to me that he'd refuse to debate. This is typical slander that can't be proven either way, it's just thrown out there to discredit Peter. This is the only trick anti-Austrians have and it's getting really old...
